Taylor Swift To Be “Best Woman” At Ed Sheeran’s Wedding?

Has Ed Sheeran chosen Taylor Swift to serve as the “best woman” at his wedding? That’s the claim in one of the new tabloids. Flavblist looked into the situation and we can exclusively set the record straight.

Sheeran announced last week that he got engaged to Cherry Seaborn, his girlfriend of two and a half years who he’s known since childhood. The Australian tabloid NW now claims to already know the details of the singer’s upcoming nuptials. An alleged “source” tells the magazine that the ceremony will be intimate, but Swift will be in attendance to serve as “Ed’s best woman on his big day.”

The outlet’s questionable insider goes on to purport that Sheeran and Seaborn are also ready to immediately start a family together. “Tay’s such a big part of Ed and Cherry’s lives they’ll probably even make her godmother to their baby when it arrives,” adds the suspicious tipster.

But Flavblist checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively tells us that Sheeran hasn’t asked Swift to be the “best woman” at his wedding. This bogus story was seemingly fabricated to capitalize on the close friendship between the two pop stars, but there’s no truth to it. There’s also nothing to suggest that Sheeran is planning to have a baby right now.

It’s also worth noting, Sheeran has an older brother named Matthew, a classical composer who arranged the orchestral version of his hit song “Perfect.” Considering that the two are quite close and even collaborate together, it’s more likely that Matthew would serve as the best man. Regardless, can confirm that Swift hasn’t been asked to take on that role at Sheeran’s ceremony.

Also, NW has very little insight into Swift’s relationships with other celebrities. Flavblist called out the magazine last year for wrongly reporting that the singer was getting back together with ex-boyfriend Harry Styles, which obviously never happened. This latest article focusing on the singer’s friendship with Sheeran is no more accurate.
